Concord Conservatory of Music (CCM) Open House. When: On Saturday, September 9th from 1 – 3 pm bring your family to the Concord Conservatory of Music Open House and visit our Instrument Petting Zoo. Whether you are 4 or 94, the petting zoo enables you to explore a variety of instruments in a hands-on way. CCM faculty will demonstrate how to hold, play, and experience these various instruments. Attend the Open House and enter the raffle for a chance to win a free CCM Group Class for the 2017 fall semester! In addition to private lessons, you can also explore the wide variety of group classes that are available for both kids and adults. After-school Music Lessons with IMSCC. The fall session starts September 11! Students work one on one with expert musician/teachers. Choose from 30-, 45- or 60-minute lessons conveniently located at CCHS and the Carlisle School. Fall Registration is now open for private lessons at the Concord Conservatory of Music (CCM) for current and new students. Concord Conservatory of Music Fall Registration for Private Lessons—CCM offers private lessons for a wide-range of instruments, whether interested in learning to sing with confidence and clarity, play the piano, violin, viola, guitar, trumpet, saxophone, bass, or cello, CCM is the musical hub in Concord. CCM also offers instruction for percussion and woodwind instruments. Registering for private lessons at CCM guarantees membership into a music community that offers ensembles, Rock Lab, Jazz Combos, workshops, masterclasses, and numerous performance opportunities. Concord Conservatory of Music Presents Courses in American Roots--CCM is introducing new offerings in American Roots music for all ages and ideal for those who are completely new to the instruments or new to the style, and for those with Bluegrass and Old-Time experience who are looking for a local jam.  Learn more at the American Roots Open House, which kicks off the program with an information session, music by the faculty and a jam session on Thursday, September 14, from 7:00 to 9:00 PM at CCM. Meet fiddle player Bobby Britt, Tony Watt teaching bluegrass, Rich Stillman on banjo, and Ian Goldstein on mandolin and guitar. Instruments will be on hand to try out at the open house, and anyone who would like to jam is invited to join in, just bring your strings instrument. The offerings for beginners include Americana fiddling, bluegrass, banjo, and mandolin. Beyond banjo, fiddle, and mandolin, anyone on guitar, violin, bass, banjo, or Dobro would fit in the offerings just fine.  Anyone that enrolls in a group or lesson in the American Roots genre can also join the Thursday, 8 pm weekly jam for free. CCM Audition Date for String Ensembles and Rock Labs is September 8th. The Concord Conservatory of Music’s (CCM) fall placement audition date for String Ensembles and Rock Labs is Friday, September 8th from 4:15 - 6:30 pm. CCM string ensembles and rock labs meet on Fridays. Students will be expected to play two scales, a prepared piece of their choice, and sight-read a piece. Join a performance-based group with others of similar age or skill level. We welcome students ages 9 -13 who have some basic note-reading experience. CCM offers two string ensembles based on ability. Students not participating in private instruction at CCM are welcome to join the CCM string ensembles. Rock Lab I for students 9 through 12 years old should be familiar with chords and the blues scale. Percussion, guitar, electric bass, saxophone, and trumpet players are all encouraged to join. The Rock Lab does not replace individual instrument instruction, but rather teaches how to play and improve together as a band. CCM offers a 15% discount off any ensemble tuition for CCM students already enrolled in private instruction at CCM. To sign-up for a placement audition, go to our website or call 978-369-0010.
