Open PTG Meeting

Open PTG Meeting on November 6! Have questions about the PTG? Interested in getting more involved in the Alcott community? Curious about how PTG programming works? Come to the Open PTG Meeting on Wednesday November 6 at 7PM at Alcott. We encourage you to submit questions and comments in advance through this form, or by emailing Liz Gibbs at ptgalcott@gmail.com.

Alcott All School Turkey Trot Schedule

The Alcott School Turkey Trot is scheduled to take place on Wednesday, October 30th, at the Emerson Track:

9:45-10:00am 4th Grade

10:05-10:20 3rd Grade

10:25-10:40 1st Grade

10:45-11:00 2nd Grade

11:05- 11:40 Kindergarten and 5th Grade*

  *Kindergarten will jog first (11:05-11:20) followed by their 5th grade buddies (11:25-11:40) as the Kindergarten students cheer for their buddies

Meadow Farms Sale

Today is the LAST day for The Meadow Farms sale! Meadow Farms provides an opportunity to purchase items from their catalogue. A percentage of the proceeds goes back to Alcott as part of our fundraising efforts that are necessary for our student community. It's a win-win! Get a head start on your holiday shopping! You can purchase anything from candles and wrapping paper, to food and kitchen items, to flower bulbs! Brochures and ordering info have been sent home in your child's bag, so let's get shopping

Alcott 3rd Grade Girl Scouts!

Alcott's Third Grade Girl Scout Troop is welcoming new members. Join us for a day trip to Girl Scout Camp on Sunday, October 27th for campfires, s'mores, and a low-ropes course! Understanding Digital Health & Safety– Parent Education program

Wed. 11/6, 7-8 pm, Online. Technology is ever-changing, and keeping on top of the newest and latest trends is critical to keeping kids safe online. Join nationally known speaker Katie Greer as she brings her knowledge and expertise on digital health and safety to parents, presenting tools and strategies to help your kids navigate technology in a safe and productive way. CCHS Girls Varsity Hockey Halloween Skate

Please join the CCHS Girls Varsity Hockey Team for a Halloween Skate on Sunday, Oct 27 at 5:55 - 6:55 PM.  The FUN-raiser will be held at Nashoba Valley Rink 2 in Boxborough.  Wear costumes, meet a Women's Hockey Gold Medalist (with her medals in hand!), fun music and more.  $10 per skater or $40 per family, cash or venmo at the door.  Skaters 13 and under must be supervised by an adult and waivers must be signed at the door (by an adult) for all skaters under 18. Bring your own skates and helmet (no hockey sticks please). Can't make it, but would still like to donate to the team? Concord Carlisle Youth Hockey In-Town Registration Open for 2024-2025


Registration is now open for Learn-to-Skate, Learn-to-Play, and Hot Shots. 

  •  Hot Shot Hockey is for Boys and Girls 8-15 yrs old and is an in-town hockey league. Our season consists of 14+ weeks of games and practices starting on November 10th.

  • Learn-to-Skate is for children 3yrs and up and teaches skating fundamentals. The Learn-to-Play program is considered our "Hockey 101" program and is geared for Girls and Boys who were born between 1/1/2016 and 12/31/2019. 

Both programs begin the second week of November at the Middlesex School rink. Please visit www.ccyh.org for more details and to register your child.

Boys Basketball Veterans Day Clinic

The CCHS Boys Basketball Veterans Day clinic is the most important fundraiser of the year for our program. All proceeds go toward the Boys' Basketball program to help pay for assistant coaches, team building activities, team dinners and the end of season banquet. The registration form can be found below. Coffee With the Principal

The first Coffee with the Principal of the year will be this Friday, October 18th at 9:30am.  At this coffee, ELA Curriculum Specialist, Katie Carr, will be sharing an overview of the DIBELs assessment, which is our universal dyslexia screener as well as the tool we use to measure the acquisition of early literacy skills.  This will be a great opportunity to learn more about early literacy development and ask any questions you might have about the assessment.  If you plan to attend, please click here to RSVP so we have a rough estimate for coffee purposes!  

Alcott Movie Night

This Friday, October 18th is Alcott Movie Night! The movie will be decided by the students. Students may vote for their preferred movie (Elemental, Wonka, Hotel Transylvania, or Paddington) via small change donations in the buckets in the main lobby. Concessions will be available after 5:30, and the movie will begin at dusk (around 6:15pm). Tickets are $20 per family. Pre-purchase tickets here. To support the event, please volunteer here.

CONCORD CARLISLE FOUNDATION presents TRIVIA NIGHT , tonight October 17th at the Colonial Inn Concord. Doors open at 6:30pm and trivia begins at 7:30 pm. Tickets are $20 in advance or $25 at the door (includes one drink - beer or wine). See additional information here. Purchase tickets here!

Heroes For Hope

Please join us for a friendly, fun, exciting day of cornhole in a 64-team tournament, single elimination style. All proceeds will support Make-A-Wish Massachusetts and Rhode Island's mission to create life-changing wishes for local children with critical illnesses.

Bandemonium! A Concert for Children & Families

The Concord Band and conductor, Jim O'Dell, present Bandemonium!, a musical event for children and families. This year, we are proud to feature performances by the students of InishFree School of Irish Dancing and the ABRSD Brass Grades 6-12. Presenting a variety of popular works, including movie soundtracks, Disney classics, and pop songs, it's a celebration of concert band you won't want to miss! Geared towards kids grades K-5, attendees are invited to join in the music-making through interactive movement games, sing-alongs, and exploration of band instruments. Alcott’s School Advisory Council Reminder

Reminder - Friday is the deadline! We have openings for two parents who are interested in serving on Alcott’s School Advisory Council (SAC). This council is made up of parents, teachers, community members and the school principal. It meets six times a year before school. Committee members can attend in person or via zoom. Parents serve a two-year term on the advisory council. The main responsibilities of the SAC are to ensure the successful completion of the School Improvement Plan, review the school budget, and to serve as an advisory board to the school principal. All interested parents should submit their names along with a brief statement of interest to Elizabeth Gibbs (ptgalcott@gmail.com) by tomorrow. If there are more than two people interested in the position, the PTG will hold an election in accordance with the policy of the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, in which the entire Alcott parent community can vote. For more info on the role of School Advisory Councils click here.

Bike, Walk, & Roll to School Day

Alcott Bike, Walk, & Roll to School Day is TODAY! The "Bike Train" leaves the station at the Keyes Rd. parking lot at 8:30 a.m.! A "Walking School Bus" for METCO students and any other Alcott Students, friends and family who may wish to walk and roll together, will begin at 8:45 a.m. at Emerson Park. We’ll have plenty of surprises and stickers for all participants. This event is for Alcott students, parents, family and friends. As always, thank you to the Concord Police Department for their support in making this event safe and fun for all!

Girls Basketball Opportunity

Join CCHS Head Girls Basketball Coach David Cohen and the Varsity Team on Monday, October 14th (Indigenous People's Day) for a great day of basketball fun and games! This annual clinic runs from 9am-1pm and is for girls in Grades 4-8. All proceeds support the CCHS Girls Basketball program - this is a fantastic way to enjoy a day off from school! Register here.

Concord Carlisle Youth Wrestling runs an introductory wrestling clinic 2-days per week starting October 15, 2024. NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY. CCHS Cheer invites you to a be a cheerleader for a day. This event is TONIGHT (10/10) for aspiring athletes ages 5-12.
