Alcott’s School Advisory Council

We have openings for two parents who are interested in serving on Alcott's School Advisory Council (SAC). This council is made up of parents, teachers, community members and the school principal. It meets six times a year before school. Committee members can attend in person or via zoom. Parents serve a two-year term on the advisory council. The main responsibilities of the SAC are to ensure the successful completion of the School Improvement Plan, review the school budget, and to serve as an advisory board to the school principal. All interested parents should submit their names along with a brief statement of interest to Elizabeth Gibbs (alcottptgpr@gmail.com) by October 10, 2024. If there are more than two people interested in the position, the PTG will hold an election in accordance with the policy of the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, in which the entire Alcott parent community can vote. For more information on the role of School Advisory Councils click here.
