The Alcott Turkey Trot Turns 25 and Goes Virtual! We have raised over $118,000 with this event throughout the last 24 years. Last year we collected $6,117, let’s beat that! Our VIRTUAL format will take place at home, in your backyards, homes and neighborhoods from Monday, November 2nd to Sunday, November 8, 2020.You can perform any type of exercise at home, walking, running, jumping rope, for 15 minutes on any one of the 7 days of the event. Pledges can be given at a flat rate for the 15 minutes, or per minute, for example 25 cents per minute of exercise. This year, all pledges must be sent via the Turkey Trot Paypal on the Alcott Owl Turkey Trot Page. The deadline for pledge donations is Friday, December 4, 2020. This year we will again be donating to The Open Table and the Concord Recreation Scholarship fund. ***All donations go directly to our charities, this is not a school fundraiser.*** View Mr. Gaudreau's letter for more information. Alcott Book Fair Update: Thank you for your support of the Alcott PTG Virtual Book Fair! The funds raised support books for the school and PTG programming throughout the year. Book orders will be delivered the week of November 16th. We would like to give a special thanks to those who purchased Wish Books- Alcott families purchased 110 books as gifts for classrooms and the library. The Wish Book purchases will be delivered to you and will include a book plate sticker for your student to sign- the books can then be given directly to your teacher or dropped off in a Wish Book box- watch for more information the week of delivery. Ms. Kwarcinski on Chronicle! This is a quick note to let the Alcott Community know that our beloved former music teacher, Ms. K, was recently interviewed for the Channel 5 newsmagazine, Chronicle. They are doing a program on "Back-to-School" and they will feature her career / retirement in one of the segments. Tune in to Chronicle on Thursday, November 5 at 7:30 p.m.!

CCM Scavenger Hunt: Follow clues and find 15 instruments hidden around Concord. You’ll follow clues to find the instruments and musical terms for a chance to win eight weeks of free CCM private lessons. Get ready to test your knowledge of Concord businesses and musical instruments in their windows. The scavenger hunt runs from Monday - Friday, November 2 - 20th. Download clues and the scavenger hunt form. To enter the scavenger hunt drawing for the free eight weeks of 30-minute private lessons and other prizes, all forms must be submitted to info@ConcordConservatory.org by 5 pm on November 20th. Limit of one form per family.
Concord Rec Classes: Concord Recreation is working with a variety of organizations to run in person classes (and online Zoom classes). Below is our current Nov/Dec offerings. Coming soon… our in-person YOUTH SPORTS in January! Stay tuned for details. All classes have protocols in place in response to COVID-19 and Concord Recreation works closely with the instructors to assure the classes are safe and socially distanced. SEPAC Back to School Night: You're invited! Please join us at the special education back to school night.
Hosted by the Concord Public Schools and Concord-Carlisle Regional School District Special Education Parent Advisory Council. Please join Ruth Grube, Director of Student Services, and Superintendent Laurie Hunter on Thursday, 29th October from 7:00 pm to hear how Special Education services are being provided in the hybrid and remote models. Everyone will have the opportunity to ask questions during the event, but if you already have specific questions for Ruth or Laurie, please submit them by Friday, 23rd October to concordsepac@gmail.com. If you are unable to attend, the event will be recorded and posted to the District website and also on www.concordsepac.org.
