Alcott Spirit Day

Friday September 27th is “Pink Day”. Please support your school and community by wearing Pink on Friday!

METCO Family Friends Apple Picking

Please join METCO Family Friends for our annual outing to the orchard! It’s always a lovely fall day with friends — apple picking, hay ride, cider, donuts, petting zoo. All are welcome!

When: Wednesday, Oct 9th 1:00-3:00pm

Where: Travel by bus or car from Alcott Elementary to Honey Pot Hill Orchard (138 Sudbury Road, Stow MA) ~20mins away

Bike/Walk to School Day

Please Save the Date for Alcott Bike/Walk to School Day on Thursday, October 10th!

Alcott Movie Night

Save the date! Alcott Movie night will be October 18th (Rain Date October 25th). More details to follow in upcoming Owls.

Girls On the Run

Girls on the Run is coming to Alcott!  We're looking for third, fourth, and fifth grade girls to join our team this season.  We meet Tuesdays and Thursdays to complete lessons, games, and workouts that will prepare us for a joyful 5K in November. Chorus Sign-Ups

From Music Teacher Ken Toland: The first 4th and 5th grade Alcott Chorus Rehearsal is October 23rd, 8:15 a.m. in the Music Room. We look forward to making music with you! Please use the link here to secure a spot. The Alcott Chorus is limited to 40 spots this year. These spots are filled on a first come first serve basis.

Concord Carlisle Youth Basketball

Registration is now open for the Concord Carlisle Youth Basketball ’24-’25 Season. Tryouts will take place from 10/7-10/12. Information regarding tryout locations, dates, and times for Boys and Girls grades 4th-8th are listed on our site:  https://ccybasketball.org/registration/

SEPAC Coffee-Meet & Mingle

SEPAC coffee - Friday, Sept. 27th at 9:30 a.m., Rideout Park by the pavilion. Please join us for our first coffee, get to know other parents and caregivers with students who also have learning differences. This is a casual get together. SEPAC board members will also be available to answer questions and chat. Children not at school are welcome. Adopt a Reading Pal program

The Concord Free Public Library is excited to announce that our very popular Adopt a Reading Pal program will return again this October!  The program is designed to teach children in grades k-5 the joys of pet adoption, reading and learning about library resources.  The generous support of the Friends had provided the library with 70 stuffed animals for children to adopt.  Kids are encouraged to care for and read to their pets daily and to attend our special programs here at the library, including meeting a veterinarian, a visit from the Baypath Humane Society and more.   Attached is a flyer and here is a link to find all of the information to register.

Executive Function Presentation with Sarah Ward

Oct. 21, 7-8:30 Online: Renowned EF expert Sarah Ward presents “The 360 Thinking Model: Breakthrough Strategies to Develop Independent Executive Function Skills”. Join us to learn how to teach children to manage their time, space and materials (and keep their emotions in check!) in this practical strategies seminar. The Mighty Moose 5K Walk/Run

The Mighty Moose (REGISTER NOW) is a 5K Run/Walk held in memory of Jenna Swaim, a loving mother and wife who lost her courageous four-year battle to ovarian cancer on July 3, 2018. She was 43 years old. The name of the event is inspired by Jenna’s Alaskan roots, love for fun, and strength! All funds raised will support research led by Dr. Kevin Elias to advance ovarian cancer prevention by developing an early detection test.
