TEACHER APPRECIATION WEEK: Teacher Appreciation Week is coming up! The PTG and Staff Appreciation Team work hard to make sure our teachers and staff feel loved all year round, but we want to make sure they feel extra special next week, Monday, May 8 to Friday, May 12. Help us kick off their week with a bright welcome to school on Monday morning. Drop by Alcott on Sunday, May 7 to decorate the sidewalk with drawings and messages for teachers and staff to see when they arrive on Monday. Chalk will be available, or bring your own favorite colors from home. Keep the smiles coming for your teacher through the week! While most classrooms opt for a year-end teacher gift from the class, there are small and free/low-cost things you can do to highlight this week! Words of thanks from parents and kids are some of the favorite things teachers receive, so don't hesitate to send a card or drawing to school with your child.
To close out the week, on Friday the PTG will offer a grab-and-go breakfast with coffee and treats for teachers to pick up something tasty to start their day. Your contributions help make these great things possible--thank you!
Let's show our Alcott teachers how much we appreciate them next week--and every week!
Our favorite Administrators are Theresa Bertolami and Kristin Corliss who were celebrated on April 26, 2023, Administrators Appreciation Day 2023). The next time you email about an early pick up or a forgotten trumpet, feel free to give them a HOOT of appreciation as well. )

Please Donate to the Annual Appeal: The Alcott PTG has launched its annual appeal campaign which will run until May 6th. Your contributions are what make our school so special. Every year, the Alcott PTG spends about $7,000 in community support for families in financial need (this pays for back to school supplies including backpacks, funding of school pictures and book fair purchasing). Did you know that 100% of the enrichment programs offered to every grade at Alcott are funded through the Alcott PTG ($1,000 pays for one grade to experience an enrichment program). The Alcott PTG also pays for staff appreciation gestures, underwriting all of our free family events (e.g. multicultural night), and Metco Family Friends events. Please consider making a donation today to support Alcott. Every dollar counts. Your Alcott community, staff and students thank you. Click here to donate.

FIELD DAY VOLUNTEERS: Our Alcott all-school Field Day is scheduled for Wednesday, May 31, 2023 from 9:00-12:00 on the Alcott school fields. Please contact Mr. G to volunteer at tgaudreau@concordps.org by Friday, May 27th. A current CORI form is needed to volunteer. Thank you for all of your support and thank you to Mr. G for planning and running this amazing event for our children annually.

5th GRADE DUES: Every year the 5th Grade Committee collects “5th grade dues” from parents to support the 5th graders' special year-end activities. We ask for your dues contribution of $40 this year and sincerely thank you for your generosity. In addition to the dues mentioned, you can also contribute to 5th grade activities directly by buying “support shares” of three activities: the Annual outing, the Moving Up ceremony, and the 5th grade-made yearbook.
