News and Announcements
President's Message
The kids had their fun at field day this week and now it's the parents' turn! I hope you'll all join us at the parent social this Saturday evening. It's a great chance to catch up with friends while supporting all of the work the PTG does to make Alcott a special place for students and teachers. If you can't make the social you can still support the PTG by bidding online on some of the great auction items our fundraising team has gathered together this year. Bid early, bid often, and see you Saturday!

A Note From the Library
May 29th will be the last day for book checkout. Please return all checked-out materials to the library by June 5th. If you are unable to find any items, please replace or send in $ or a check payable to "Alcott Lost Book Fund" so that we may replace the items.
The Library Book Swap will run from June 1st - June 12th. During class library time, students can exchange 1-3 books from home (elementary school age-appropriate and in gently used condition) that they no longer want for books that other students have swapped.

Concord Pride
Join fellow Alcott families and allies as we march in this year's Concord Pride parade on Saturday June 6! We will meet outside the Umbrella Arts Center at 9:45am. The parade kicks off at 10am and travels from the Umbrella to the flagpole in Monument Square. Wear your most festive Pride gear and show support for our LGTBQIA+ friends and neighbors!

Alcott School Parent Social

Alcott Spring Fair
Our annual Alcott Spring Fair will take place during the school day on Tuesday, June 2nd! Fifth Grade students will host a morning of outdoor games and activities for K–4 students and teachers — a fun tradition that builds leadership and school community. Families are invited to purchase a $10 unlimited-play ticket, via this Paypal Link. All students will participate regardless of ability to pay, and families may also donate an extra ticket to support others. Proceeds support the Fair and other special Fifth Grade events, including the upcoming Moving Up ceremony.

End of Year Ice Cream Party!
To celebrate the end of the school year, the Alcott PTG is hosting an ice cream party! On Friday June 5th, students will go with their class after lunch to receive a pre-scooped ice cream or allergy friendly sorbet from Bedford Farms. Please keep an eye out for a permission email from your classroom teacher. You will also have a chance to pre-select an ice cream flavor for your child. In order to make this event a success we need volunteers! Sign up here to help hand out sweet treats on June 5th. It's a great day for all! Thank you!

School Supplies 2026-2027
We've partnered with 1st Day School Supplies again to make shopping for your child's supplies super easy! Just click here and purchase your child's supplies for next year (select the grade they will be in for 2026-2027), and it will be delivered to your child's classroom at Alcott before school starts in August. The Alcott PTG also earns money for every kit purchased. Please consider purchasing an extra kit or 2 to donate for those in need. These extra kits go directly to Alcott families in need of school supply assistance. Deadline to order is July 1.

In the Community
Your Voice Matters
How often do your kids get to see you saving the world while sitting on your couch? We need your parent voices in the room for a public input workshop this Thursday, May 28th at 7pm. The Town is hosting a virtual workshop to get feedback on which climate priorities we, as a Town, should select. We need you there to speak up on behalf of the next generation until your kids can follow your example and feel empowered to speak for themselves. See attached flyer for more information.

LARP Adventure program
LARP Adventure program is running a summer camp at the Scout House from June 15-18 and June 22-26! LAP runs Live-Action Roleplay programs for kids in grades 3-8 centering around outdoor teamwork games, STEAM projects, collaborative storytelling, and imaginative play. West Concord Porchfest
West Concord Porchfest Saturday, June 13 1:00–5:00. A free, family-friendly music festival—will be filling West Concord Village and the surrounding streets with music on Saturday, June 13, from 1-5 PM (rain date: 6/14). Grab a map at an event hub (the Harvey Wheeler Center and Thoreau School ) and check out over 50 musical acts. Park at the MBTA lot or on local streets. Info at: WestConcordPorchfest.org.

CFPL Reading Dragons Program
Sara Dempster, Head of Youth Services at the Concord Free Public Library, is excited to share that they are launching the third season of the Summer Reading Dragons program! The program is fantastic, and kids really connect with it! Participation in Reading Dragons is a wonderful way for students and families to inspire and support summer reading. Milldam Ducky Fair- Saturday, May 30, 10-12pm
Mark your calendars for the Annual Ducky Fair on Saturday, May 30 from 10am-12pm. This year's fair will be in the middle of the Emerson Track Field (between Stow and Thoreau Streets). Love for Runway — 5th Anniversary Celebration
Thursday, June 4 at 6:30pm as Walden Street in Concord comes alive to celebrate the 5th Anniversary of Love for Runway, a beloved community tradition that brings together local businesses, families, and supporters in honor of those impacted by breast cancer. This year, we are honored to hear from four inspiring speakers—Jessica and Lindsay Underwood, Kate Yoder, and Nikki Joyal—who will share their personal journeys and the ways breast cancer has shaped their lives. CCYFH Fall Registration
Registration is now open for the Concord-Carlisle Youth Field Hockey (CCYFH) Fall Season. Programming includes one practice and one game per week- September 7 through November 9. Practices will be on Monday nights, and games will be held on Sunday afternoons. Grades 3-5 —> Town Program. Grades 6-8 —> Travel Teams. Registration closes on June 1st and can be completed here. A valid USA Field Hockey membership number is required to complete your CCYFH registration. If your player is not yet a member, please sign up here first. We look forward to a great season!

IMSCC Summer and Fall Lessons and Ensembles are Enrolling Now!
Join us this summer for private lessons! Lessons with IMSCC's expert faculty take place at CCHS and the Carlisle school. Scheduling is flexible. Fall semester private lessons begin in September. To begin the enrollment process for summer or fall, please fill out the lesson inquiry form. IMSCC also offers summer ensembles and workshops as well as small group lessons in the fall.
