The Alcott Chess Club is going strong through these pandemic times. We'd love to see you join! The club has merged for now with Sudbury elementary schools and zooms on either Tuesdays or Thursdays, starting at 5:00 p.m. for at least an hour. Your children really must check it out. The sessions just started this week, but it's not too late to get in on the fun. For questions on the chess club and fees, email alcottchess@hotmail.com or call Ken Belt at 617-332-4483. We'd love to hear from you! It's one move in the right direction toward restoring the routine.

present “This Little Sign of Mine: Celebrating Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.”
For the past 27 years the Concord-Carlisle Human Rights Council has had a January celebration to honor the memory of Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. In 2021, we plan to continue this tradition and are excited to do so during a time when we recognize that our mission and the mission that Dr. King stood for is needed now more than ever. We invite community members to create and display signs in honor of Dr. King in what we are calling “This Little Sign of Mine: Celebrating Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.”.

Display in a front facing window or in a front yard sign during the weekend of January 16th-18th.
Take a photo of your sign and email to info@cchumanrights.org by Sunday, January 17th so it can be displayed on our Facebook page on MLK Jr. Day!
This annual event is always a highlight in our calendar and we are very pleased to be able to offer this special opportunity to reflect on Dr. King’s message of integration, freedom and justice for all.
Spring Baseball + Spring Softball Registration for the Spring Baseball + Spring Softball seasons is open now through the end of the month. Spread the word to friends and classmates and REGISTER NOW at CCYB.ORG. Building on an incredibly successful 2020, robust programming is being offered for players in PK through High School. New for this year, T-Ball is inclusive of both baseball and softball and will be the jumping off point for both programs. Sport specific programming begins in 1st Grade.
CC Youth Lacrosse Grades 1 & 2 Happy New Year! Reminder that registration remains open for 1st and 2nd grade Girls and Boys Spring Lacrosse. The once per week clinic-style practices are a fun way to develop stick skills and learn the game. Register here
Fresh Start: Starting 2021 with Healthy Habits: Join the Auxiliary of Emerson Hospital on Thursday, January 21 at 7:00 pm for another virtual event in our wellness series as panelists discuss behavior and food. There will be suggestions for healthy snacks, comfort foods, and lifestyle changes. We will also explore ways to stay active and exercise at home during the winter months. Moderated by Kathryn Lorusso, a Nutritional Therapy Practitioner and Movement Therapist, registration is required. If you have questions, contact the Auxiliary Liaison at 978-287-3084. Wicked Gross Science - Gross Science is not for the easily queasy! The gross yet fascinating things in life hide many science secrets like what's hidden in a diaper. Classify some creepy crawlies and neutralize smelly smells. Make some model mucus, create alien slime, have fun with other grossly amusing science adventures.
Code Wiz Classes *Registration Closes Friday, 1/15 - Code Wiz aligns its curriculum with the K–12 Computer Science Framework represents a vision in which all students engage in the concepts and practices of computer science. The framework promotes a vision in which all students critically engage in computer science issues; approach problems in innovative ways; and create computational artifacts with a practical, personal, or societal intent.
Kids Test Kitchen - Each class presents students with an opportunity to explore new or familiar foods in their raw, unmanipulated state. Then, with adult supervision and occasional assistance, we’ll work together, virtually, to slice, dice, peel, measure, and cook until we have each prepared the finished dish. The virtual experience gives students the unique opportunity to immediately share their work with family!
