METCO Family Friends Apple Picking

Please join METCO Family Friends for our annual outing to the orchard! It’s always a lovely fall day with friends — apple picking, hay ride, cider, donuts, petting zoo. All are welcome!

Girls On the Run

Girls on the Run is coming to Alcott!  We're looking for third, fourth, and fifth grade girls to join our team this season.  We meet Tuesdays and Thursdays to complete lessons, games, and workouts that will prepare us for a joyful 5K in November. SEPAC Coffee-Meet & Mingle

SEPAC coffee - Friday, Sept. 27th at 9:30 a.m., Rideout Park by the pavilion. Please join us for our first coffee, get to know other parents and caregivers with students who also have learning differences. This is a casual get together. SEPAC board members will also be available to answer questions and chat. Children not at school are welcome. Adopt a Reading Pal program

The Concord Free Public Library is excited to announce that our very popular Adopt a Reading Pal program will return again this October!  The program is designed to teach children in grades k-5 the joys of pet adoption, reading and learning about library resources.  The generous support of the Friends had provided the library with 70 stuffed animals for children to adopt.  Kids are encouraged to care for and read to their pets daily and to attend our special programs here at the library, including meeting a veterinarian, a visit from the Baypath Humane Society and more.   Attached is a flyer and here is a link to find all of the information to register.

Executive Function Presentation with Sarah Ward

Oct. 21, 7-8:30 Online: Renowned EF expert Sarah Ward presents “The 360 Thinking Model: Breakthrough Strategies to Develop Independent Executive Function Skills”. Join us to learn how to teach children to manage their time, space and materials (and keep their emotions in check!) in this practical strategies seminar. The Mighty Moose 5K Walk/Run

The Mighty Moose (REGISTER NOW) is a 5K Run/Walk held in memory of Jenna Swaim, a loving mother and wife who lost her courageous four-year battle to ovarian cancer on July 3, 2018. She was 43 years old. The name of the event is inspired by Jenna’s Alaskan roots, love for fun, and strength! All funds raised will support research led by Dr. Kevin Elias to advance ovarian cancer prevention by developing an early detection test.

Fall Family Portraits + Raise Funds for Milldam

Sign up for fall family portraits at the North Bridge with Cole and Kiera Photography and support Milldam Nursery School. There are both mini and custom sessions to meet your needs - mini session dates are: September 22, October 6 and October 12. The sessions are open to anyone, not just the Milldam community. Sign up for a date & time and help us raise funds for the school.

Kicks Pop up Sale for the Community:  Saturday, September 21st from 10am-2pm in the CCHS Cafeteria.  Come get your Kicks merchandise (Kicks shirts, hoodies, sweatpants, hats, magnets, stickers, bracelets, lawn signs, etc.) before Kicks for Cancer week and before "Pink Day" on September 27th!

IMSCC Music Lessons - Fall session is enrolling now!

Fall lessons are underway and new students of all ages are welcome to join us! It's not too late to sign up - lessons can start any time during the semester. Lessons are one-on-one with IMSCC's expert instructors and are available for all band and orchestra instruments as well as voice, piano, guitar, bass guitar and ukulele. Lessons take place after school and in the evenings at CCHS and the Carlisle school. For more about IMSCC click here; email Debbie Levine with questions. Would you like to have a high school buddy and get to hang out with them during your free time?
You will be paired up with a high school student and meet over Zoom or in person with them every other week, or more if you'd like to! The 30-60 minute meetings are flexible based on whenever you and your buddy are free. During this time, you can do arts and crafts, play virtual games, get help with schoolwork, and have a new friend to spend time with! If you want a buddy, complete the Buddy Program Elementary and Middle School Interest Form before September 22nd.

Concord-Carlisle Community Buddy Program

Would you like to have a high school buddy and get to hang out with them during your free time?

You will be paired up with a high school student and meet over Zoom or in person with them every other week, or more if you'd like to! The meeting times are flexible based on whenever you and your buddy are free. The meetings will last anywhere from 30 minutes to 1 hour. During this time, you can do arts and crafts, play virtual games, get help with schoolwork, and have a new friend to spend time with!

If you want a buddy, complete the Buddy Program Elementary and Middle School Interest Form before September 16th (the due date is now changed to September 22nd).

PK Dance Center - A New Dance Studio for the Concord Community!

Have a child that loves to move and groove? PK Dance Center offers fun, family friendly, and exciting dance classes for all ages! Join us for our very first season and discover a love of dance with us! Cub Scouts

Concord’s Cub Scout Pack 133 would love to invite interested kids to check out our Pack by joining us for a model rocket launch at 2:00pm on Saturday Sept. 21 (Rain Date Sunday) at South Meadow Field on Pilgrim Rd. in Concord.  Our pack operates as a family pack, welcoming everyone regardless of gender, religion, or background.  Cub Scouts provides grade-appropriate outdoor, service, and citizenship programming to kids in grades K-5.  New members may join in any school year and advance with their peers without playing catch-up.

Concord Conservatory of Music

Discover the joy of playing the ukulele at the Concord Conservatory of Music (CCM) with two Ukulele Tasters! Join us on Monday, September 16th, from 6:15–7:15 pm at the Harvey Wheeler Community Center in Concord, or Wednesday, September 18th, from 7:00–8:00 pm at KJ's Caffè in Acton, where you can enjoy dinner beforehand. No experience needed—CCM faculty Aaron Jay Myers will have you strumming along in no time. Ukuleles are provided, but feel free to bring your own. Concord’s 2024 Community Health Needs Assessment is now open! Take this survey to improve the health of your community and help inform future priorities. This survey will take approximately 10-15 minutes. All responses are completely anonymous. Participants must be 18 years and older. If you have any questions, please let Moira Carter, our Public Health Nurse, know. She can be contacted at mcarter@concordma.gov.
